"The
Complete Book of Muslim & Parsi Names"
by
Maneka Gandhi and Ozair Husain
"On
the day of Qayamat, you will be called by your names and
the names of your fathers. Therefore, keep good names"
-
Prophet Muhammad
|
From
the back of the book:
"The result of several years of research, The Complete
Book of Muslim and Parsi Names is an extensive and thorough
compilation of names from the Muslim and Parsi world. The meaning
of each of the approximately 30,000 names taken from ten languages
is given and its sources and historical relevance discussed. The
book provides useful source material for lay readers, parents
and scholars who would like to know the origin and root of familiar
and not-so-familar names".
|
An
excerpt from the book
Muhammad,
meaning "one who is praised", is the most commonly
given name in the world. According to a Hadis, Prophet Muhammad is supposed
to have said "Whoever is named after me with the hope of being
blessed, he will be blessed and will be in peace till the Day of Qayamat".
According
to the Mishkatu 'l Masabih, on the subject of names, the Prophet is
supposed to have said "The best names in the sight of God are
'Abdu'llah (the servant of Allah), 'Abdu'r Rahman (servant of the merciful
one)."
"The
vilest name you can give a human being is Maliku'l-Amlak or king of
kings, because no one can be such but God himsel."
"Call
your children after your prophet but the names God likes best are 'Abdu'llah
and 'Abdu'r Rahman, and the next best are Haris (husbandman) and Hammam
(high-minded). The wordst names are Harb (enemity) or Murrah (bitterness".
"On
the day of Qayamat, you will be called by your names and the names of
your fathers. Therefore, keep good names".
Why
Should I Buy This Book?
This
is probably our most frequently asked question by our visitors:
Question
Why
should I buy The Complete Book of Muslim & Parsi Names

BabyNamesIndia.com which have published thousands of baby

Answer
- Because...

Ozar Husain's book: 30,000 names!]
- Because...

Yes,
you are right. There are many free sites on baby names.
But
what you don't know, is that there are actually about
40,000 - 50,000 possible names (probably even more) and combinations
in our country, and no web site - including ourselves - has published
more than 3,000 names.
We
are the #1 site for names on the web, and yet (frankly speaking) what
we have here is less than 10% of all names. So, if we have only
10%, then don't even bother going to these other sites.

So
why don't you publish all the other names then? |
Simply
because we have neither the expertise nor the funds (we are a free site,
remember?) to back extensive research on names, their meanings and their
origins - like Maneka Gandhi and Ozair Husain have already done!
Why
reinvent the wheel?
So
what we have done is, we recommend buying Maneka Gandhi's
book which has more than 30,000 of the
most unusual names you can find anywhere, along with a detailed
explanation about the name's origin and its meaning.
These
are names that you will not find on any web site - or
even any other book, for that matter.

Naming
your little bundle of joy is a
Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
There
is no "next time".
|
The
name you give your baby is going to be with her (or him) for the rest
of her (his) life. It's not a question of one day, one month or one
year - a Name Is For Life
Are
you willing to compromise on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
for the sake of a mere $34?
Don't
throw away this unique chance. Give your child the best possible name.
Don't
give your child just any name - give your child the name of a life time.

Answers
to FAQ
- Why
two different payment options - 2Checkout.com and PayPal.com?
Whichever option
you choose, the cost of the book, the service and the delivery date
will remain exactly the same.
The only difference is that, if you are already a PayPal.com member,
you can use your existing balance to transfer the funds to us.
Using 2Checkout.com, you can pay using your credit card just the
way you would at any store (online or offline), like Amazon.com.
We've provided the 2Checkout.com option for those who are not PayPal
members and those who don't have the time to sign up for a new account
with PayPal.
Also, since both of them are external sites, we want to give you
an additional alternative to make your purchase, just in case these
web sites are not available at the time of your purchase..
Top
- Is
your server secure?
Absolutely. Both 2Checkout and PayPal implement the highest security
standards. You can shop with them securely.
Top
- How
can I make sure that it is indeed secure?
Just when you are about to enter your credit card information, look
at the 'url' or 'link' in your browser. The link will (and should)
start with https://. The 's' in the https:// means
that the page where you are entering your credit card information,
is absolutely safe and secure. No one can look at your credit card
information other than you and the merchant, which is either PayPal.com
or 2Checkout.com, depending on which merchant you choose to buy
from.
Top
- Who
will be processing my credit card?
Either 2Checkout or PayPal will be processing your credit card information.
We will never get to see your credit card information. You will
be submitting it directly to them at their site.
Top
- Do
you have access to my credit card info?
No, not at all. We don't even see any of your credit card information.
You will be submitting it directly to our merchant partners at their
site.
Top
- What
is your return policy?
You can return your book to obtain a 100% refund - i.e., whatever
was charged to your credit card will be refunded in full - if for
some reason you receive the wrong book (not what you ordered online)
or if the product you ordered is damaged during shipping. Absolutely
No Questions asked.
Top
- How
soon will I get my book?
The book, as you probably realize, is printed and published in India.
So, the shipping is also done from India. So, depending on which
country you live in, you will get your book in as little as 3 days,
or it may even take 2-3 weeks. In the last 2 year that our book
store has been operational, we have seen that a book shipped from
India reaches the U.S or Canada in 10-12 business days.
Top
- Where
is the book being shipped from?
From India. To be more precise, from one of our two fulfilment centers
in Chennai and Bangalore.
